Yukimura's loyal bodyguard and friend. She helped Yuki sneak into the Yagyu dojo and is aiding her in her plans to bring the Toyotomi clan back to prominence. A bit of a klutz and as clumsy as a lobster with mittens on, Matabei nonetheless is serious to a fault and takes her role of "protector" with vigor. Loves eating and cooking food, and is something of a bath aficionado.
